I have to start my first post with Pub Anchor. This is one of my favourites and I am usually here once a week.
This is a great rock music bar in Stockholm, darkly lit with black candles in Jack Daniels bottles on each table, and dark wood give it a grungy atmosphere. The background music is, unsurprisingly, varieties of rock, although tends to lean more towards the 80’s.
Inside there is a fair amount of seating, although there is also a large standing space in front of the stage for moshing when bands play. They do also have benches out front, which are seated under heat lamps and a canopy.
Drinks are fairly well priced, and they do have a decent happy hour too. They also serve food, which is surprisingly good, and they even have a food challenge for those who are feeling particularly hungry and brave.
Pub Anchor has lots going on here every day of the week. The pub quiz is free and is in English. It focuses on music and films with a touch of general knowledge, so I feel it is quite an accessible level. They have Rockkaraoke twice a week, and plenty of live bands on other days.
Don’t be intimidated by the look of the place, the staff are really nice, as is the clientele. I would definitely recommend you pay it a visit!
